north american only events-why not international??
OK,heres what is annoying me:judging from the guildwars website, you can only get the minipet destroyer from north american copies of PCgamer,or off a in-game player.
now the mini-madness event.canada+north america, why the HELL is it north-american+canadian only?!this is just NOT fair. only continent ive seen not get any bonuses like this:is european i understand that the korean servers got it because of the player lack, but release the minipets in north america and canada only...i dont see how this benefits the euro players,i mean yes you can get it in-game but on the other hand it leaves euro players at 0 promo minipets(UNLESS you grind/ebay/farm/whatever you do to get cash to raise for them ingame) which imo is silly. release the event internationally, there you go happy gw players. |

geez its not like we get them all the time, this is our first one and it was because everyone was complaining about the rare minis to exclusive. weird how they would only add 2 more countries, maybe you need to complain more.

umm....what happened to the mini-pet promotion Europe had? The one where 1000 rare mini pets were given out? The American-Canadian only promotion is pretty much the same thing....

It all stems from the meaning of International as it applies to American and what it means in the rest of the world. How many countries take part in the World series baseball contest. For that matter how many alien civilisations were invited to the miss universe contest. World/International?Universe = America ok ribbing over I am as guilty as any of getting annoyed at this "seeming favoritism". I would emphasise that I thought the grey giant and asura giveaway was world wide hense my annoyance at the American only destroyer givaway. I apologise if I was wrong about that. The large number of postings on the forums served to wind everyone up not helped by comments from people who lived in usa and had the pet and arenanets lack of comment. This followed by an announcement of an American only free lottery style pet givaway served to get us all going again. A simpal announcement letting people know what was happening and why was all that was needed or a statement on the policy of arenanet and international customers. None I have seen which again gets people angry confused hurt etc all over again. Lack of a responce on the website leads people to believe its either a don't care attitude or sheer arrogance. Maybe there are international laws that prevent some of the countries taking part equally in these contests. Few game players know their countries laws to that level. Arena net does and so do their lawyers so why not explain it to us simply. |

Of course if you are lucky enough to have access to a book or magazine store that caters to an international customer base you can get the destroyer.
Mine came from a store near the university in Liverpool UK the code was sealed too so no chance of it being photographed. I feel so so lucky a friend saw them and grabbed a copy for me Cheers Colin your a mate. |

Simply announce that a series of offers would be made worldwide but that due to local restrictions the type of contest would differ from country to country. That takes the steam out of any complaint and gets us all complaining to our governments. Did enjoy all the posts though, mind you I would have loved to see the posts if the online contest in the USA had an entry fee of $12 roughly compatable with the magazine cost over here Last edited by gremlin; Oct 13, 2007 at 12:05 AM // 00:05.. |

Again, you aren't paying for a minipet sweepstakes. You are paying for a magazine.
You want the magazine publisher to just lose money and give you their product for free? Either way, I agree it is a bit "unfair." Still, the odds that I'll win the mini pet are so slim anyway... hardly worth worrying about. |
